With all of our cross-country travels out of the way, it was time to just sit back and enjoy Alicante. At first we thought of this city as nothing more than just an apartment, a falafel place and a beach, but it was so much more than that! There was a whole world waiting to be explored!
Despite our crazy night, we were still able to get a good night sleep in and when we woke up, we felt we had a lot of explaining to do. It was difficult enough to explain everything that happened last night in English, let alone in Spanish.
We got on the train at around dawn and embarked on our journey to Murcia. Murcia is one of the largest cities in Spain, but it is definitely not a popular destination for tourists necessarily. We were going for two main reasons. One, to visit our friend and her family, and also to partake in one of Spain’s largest street festivals.
It was mid April in Germany, and my friends and I got a 10 day vacation. Some people decided to use the vacation to explore more of Germany, others decided to go do some backpacking in Eastern Europe. We were bold enough to rent a place by the beach in Spain for the week.
